The Digital Learning Instructional Design Series offers one-hour, online workshops designed to support faculty strengthen their online and hybrid teaching. Led by instructional designers and guest faculty, these sessions explore a variety of timely topics—such as student engagement, course quality standards, collaborative technologies, accessibility practices, and effective assessment design.

Each workshop provides practical, ready-to-implement strategies to enhance teaching effectiveness and improve the student learning experience.

Creating an Effective Online Course

This course is for beginning instructors or those who just want a refresher. In this workshop, we will discuss setting up your course for success. As educators, our chief goal is to enable student engagement in their own learning.

Participants will examine modes of online learning, effective online orientation, ensuring alignment, maximizing student engagement, structuring your online course.

Design Course Content for Accessibility

Accessibility of online course content is an ongoing goal for the benefit of our students’ success and to meet ADA requirements. Learn how to design accessible content in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Panopto so you don’t have to spend time remediating content after it is created.
