Online Course Redesign Academy (OCRA)

The foundation of the Online Course Redesign Academy (OCRA) is Quality Matters (QM). QM is a faculty-centered, peer review process designed to improve the quality of online courses. It is based on nationally recognized best practices and built on the expertise of experienced online instructors and instructional designers.

OCRA is designed to help ACC Distance Education courses meet QM standards. The training is divided into two parts:

  • Attend a Apply the Quality Matters Rubric (APPQMR) session
  • Complete the course (re)design, development, and QM Review process with DE Instructional Designers

Applicant Prerequisites: Faculty who have already attended an OCRA/APPQMR training are not eligible to participate again. If you have previously completed the training and need to redesign another course, please contact your DE Instructional Designer or email [email protected].

Stipend: $1000 (Total)
After attending the training, faculty will work with a DE Instructional Designer to design one online or hybrid course. The first $500 stipend will be issued when the alignment table is completed. The second $500 stipend will be issued when the course meets QM standards.
