Distance Learning Instruction Series (DLIS)

In order to meet the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) requirements, ACC instructors must complete the Distance Learning Instruction Series (DLIS) prior to teaching any distance education course.

This series fulfills one of the training requirements for ACC distance learning instruction. It includes five modules covering key components of distance learning instruction:

  • Introduction to ACC Policies and Practices for Online Teaching
  • Writing Learning Objectives and Aligning Your Course
  • Technologies and Resources for Online Learning
  • Universal Design and Accessibility in Online Courses
  • Best Practices in Structuring Your Online Course

Earning Your Credit:

To receive credit for the series, you must successfully complete the assessments for all five modules.

Completion of this series fulfills one of the training requirements for ACC distance learning instruction.

You will earn five hours of professional development credit upon successful completion of all five modules.
