Course Approval Process
To ensure alignment with institutional, state, and accrediting body requirements, faculty must complete the Distance Education Course Approval Form before developing a new online or hybrid course or redesigning an existing one.
This required process supports thoughtful course planning and ensures compliance with policies set by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), SACSCOC, and ACC leadership. Approvals are routed through the Department Chair, Division Dean, and Associate Vice Chancellor of Distance & Alternative Education, with additional approvals needed for full online programs.
Early coordination with the Office of Distance and Alternative Education is strongly encouraged to support a smooth development process and meet scheduling deadlines.
