How do students schedule an Appointment?
Students can go to the appointment scheduling page in the Student Portal.
- Appointments are on a first-come, first-served basis.
- We cannot accommodate same-day appointments.
- If the deadline permits, students can submit appointment requests up to a week before the start date and as far out as three weeks.
- If students do not see any exams listed in the “Available Test(s)” section, appointments are no longer available before your deadline.
Go to Test ACCess to edit the start and end dates for the exam. Once you submit the changes, DE Proctoring will review and approve them.
Can my student be added to a session today?
DE Proctoring can not accommodate same-day testing. If a student has technical issues preventing them from taking their exam at the scheduled time, we will work with them to resolve the issue and schedule them for the next available session.
Can my students test on campus?
The following locations have a computer students can use for their DE Proctoring appointment. A webcam and headset are available upon request.
Can my students use the testing centers?
Only students who are prevented from securely testing with DE Proctoring due to technical issues may take their exam at one of the ACC Testing Centers.
What happens when a student schedules an appointment?
Upon submitting an appointment request, students immediately get a Student Appt Confirmation Email (example for faculty only). The email confirms the appointment, provides instructions on how to join the session correctly, and contains links to the practice sessions we offer. Students are encouraged to join a practice session to ensure their computer settings are correct and do a run-through so they know what to expect.
When will my student receive the link for the appointment?
Students will receive the link to the testing session the day before the appointment. The email comes from Class and has “You’ve been invited to join a class!” in the subject line. At the appointment time, students click on the blue “Join Your Class” meeting link in the email, then click “Join on the Web” to be directed to the Class web-based portal.
We also send an email titled “Important Info for TOMORROW’s Proctoring Session” (example for faculty only) containing the joining instructions. Although they were sent this information when they scheduled their appointment, we want to ensure they have it readily available.
Students must check that they have received their link early. Students who arrive late will not be allowed into the session.
Why was my student removed from the testing session?
The number one reason students are removed from testing sessions is that they fail to follow the instructions in advance.
Once a student schedules an appointment, the confirmation email contains important information and instructions on joining the session correctly. Having incorrect computer settings, an unacceptable ID, an incompatible device (iPad, phone), using a hotspot, etc., will affect the student’s ability to test.
If students fail to adjust their settings correctly, they will not have time to do so once the session begins. The confirmation email also contains links to our practice sessions. Students are encouraged to join a practice session to ensure their computer settings are correct and do a run-through so they know what to expect.
Testing sessions are conducted in group settings, and other students cannot be delayed from starting their exam while an individual student is troubleshooting issues. Once students have begun testing, the proctor must monitor the students and cannot redo the check-in process or assist in troubleshooting.
What if a student needs to cancel their appointment?
Before students cancel their appointments, we encourage them to review the following information before rescheduling their current appointment.
- Check your exam’s deadline. We cannot accommodate same-day appointments.
- Please contact the professor for guidance if the exam is due before an appointment is available.
- Once an appointment has been canceled, it immediately gets released so other students can reserve it, and it cannot be rebooked.
Students must go to the ACC Session Scheduling page to cancel an appointment. Click “View/Cancel Appointments” and cancel the appointment there. Once the appointment has been cancelled, the student can submit another appointment request if needed. If students do not see any exams listed in the “Available Test(s)” section, appointments are no longer available before the deadline.
How can a student reschedule their appointment?
Students must submit another appointment request to reschedule an appointment. The appointments are on a first-come, first-served basis. If the student misses an appointment or experiences technical difficulties, they should contact DE Proctoring for assistance or attend a Practice Session before rescheduling their appointment.
We cannot accommodate same-day appointments. If the exam is due before the available testing sessions, students should contact their professor for guidance on testing options or possible deadline extensions.
The student must go to the ACC Session Scheduling page to schedule an appointment. If students do not see any exams listed in the “Available Test(s)” section, appointments are no longer available before the deadline.
My student did not receive a class invitation, what should they do?
Students will receive an invitation from Class the day before the appointment containing the link to the testing session. If students do not have the link by the morning of the appointment, they should contact us. Students should be diligent in checking that they have received their appointment link ahead of time so there is sufficient time to resend the invitation. Students who arrive late will not be allowed into the session.
